Roundabout Has Helped Me

Hi there, my name is Pamela and I am a recovering alcoholic. I just thought I would write a wee letter to Roundabout as it has helped me loads over the last eleven months.
I am amazed that I have come so far in my recovery and in a couple of weeks I will be celebrating my first AA birthday. I couldn't have done this without the help of the people in the Fellowship, to whom I will be forever grateful. I came to AA a couple of times and I just couldn't get it - I kept lifting that fatal first drink. I've had a bit of a rollercoaster ride but it is far more enjoyable than being out there drinking. I am not sure whether I would still be alive today if I hadn't found AA and met the wonderful people I choose to call my friends today.
Now I have a life that is filled with love and understanding, which I don't want to give away for anyone. I have a power in my life today, which I choose to call God and I talk to Him all the time, especially in the morning and this helps me so, so much. I am so excited about my first birthday and think I will be very emotional but that is OK today. I love being in AA and will never forget my last drink and where drink took me.
I would like to thank my friends and family for all their love and support because without them and the Fellowship, God only knows where I would be now.
